São Martinho do Porto is known because of its laid back feel to it and the natural sheltered bay. It’s ideal for families, since children can swim in the Atlantic seawater without the danger of big waves. There are several good hotels, restaurants and cafes at walking distance from the beach and it has always been a popular holiday place for Portuguese living in and around Lisbon.
